Bridal Shower Game Ideas…

I’m hosting a bridal shower Saturday and would love to have some fun games to play. Do you have any ideas? If so, please leave a comment here or send me an e-mail message by Friday afternoon, giving enough information so I understand what you’re saying. I’ll have a little gift for one lucky person who gives me an idea! Thanks in advance for your help!

Love the game where you buy baby items from Target/Walmart, etc and keep the receipt and then whoever can get closest to the total price without going over of all the items, wins!

Hello Marueen!

Here are some ideas:

The Bridal Shower Candy Match Game
(Similar to the "match game" you may have played as a child. For this game you will be matching popular candy and candy bar names with wedding related definitions.

Use index cards, card stock paper or bristol board to make the cards. Half of the cards will have the names of candy (bars) on them and half will have wedding definitions.

Use the names and definitions below to create your bridal shower candy match game cards and then shuffle them, turn them upside down, number them, and mount them on a wall or some other surface that will make it easy for all your guests to see. Sticky tack is perfect for mounting the cards and is available at any office supply or teacher's store.

Have your guest take turns flipping two cards. If the definition matches the candy, they get the applicable candy bar or whatever other prize you decide to use. If the defintion and candy does not match, the cards are flipped back over and the next person gets to try.

Please Note: There are more bridal shower candy match game definitions then you probably need below, but since candy bar availability differs from location to location we wanted to give you a wide range to choose from. Pick the ones below that best suit your shower and use them.)

Herbs and Spices
This game is particularly suitable if you are giving a kitchen theme wedding shower.
Get ten paper cups and place a different herb or spice in each cup, having marked the side of the cup with a number. Cover each cup with paper or foil and make a small hole in the cover.
Each guest has to guess the spice in each cup by the smell and write down the herb or spice, next to the number on their note pad.
The guest who can identify the most spices correctly wins the game.

I would FAIL terribly at the game where each lady was given 5 corsage pins to pin on her shirt (safety pins would work too) and then could NOT cross her legs or ankles the whole night. If she did and someone caught her, they would get one of her pins. The lady with the most pins would WIN!

An idea for sit down paper game....is to match LOVERS, two lists of mixed up names of famous lovers. IE: one side would be the girls....Juliet, the other would have the men....Romeo.
You could use names for movie stars, tv couples, actual couples you may know, of course the bride and groom, etc... Make sure you mix them up! :)

My sister did this for me, at first I wasn't to thrilled about it, but now it is a treasure.
She TAPED (old school I know) each lady with a 'bit of advice' for the new couple. So now I have the voices of my closest friends and family (Grandma's who have past on) with great words to keep a marriage happy. :)

I hope you have a great time. Jenny

My favorite is the toilet paper wedding dress. You split into groups. Choose someone in each group to be the "bride" Then the group makes a dress and accessories out of toilet paper on the chosen "bride". Then the real bride gets to choose who made the best dress. I have been to a couple showers and we did this. It was a lot of fun. Make sure you take pictures! =)

I enjoyed a bingo game at the last shower I attended. Give each guest a piece of paper and pen/pencil. Each guest listed what she gave as a shower gift(those would be the free spaces example if your gift was cookie sheet and cookbook, those would be 2 of your words). Then the guest listed what she thought the Bride might receive as gifts. Make a total of 10 or more words (depending on number of gifts/guests). As Bride unwraps gifts, if you have that word on your list, you get to cross it off. Winner is first to get all words crossed off!
