27 years ago today…

…I married my husband and friend, Mike. We paid for the reception ourselves with a very small budget and gift “donations” from loved ones. For example, my Sunday School teacher took our photos as his gift to us; no digital cameras in the olden days! My sisters helped with the silk flowers, and my sister-in-law remade my mom’s wedding dress so I could wear it. Looking at these pictures brings back such happy memories!

I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by! We’re older, fluffier (definition: fatter), and one of us is balder (not me!). We’ve had our share of challenging times along with the good. But through it all, we’ve stuck together and become a strong family. Thanks, Mike, for being my partner and standing by my side for 27 great years, for helping me raise our 3 incredible children, and for so many cherished memories. I love you!

Happy Wedding Anniversary...belatedly. How special that you wore your mother's wedding dress. My mother made mine and I did my own flowers...all of them. No expensive weddings for us, huh? LOL

Hugs!

I loved reading this!! Our wedding was very similar. We did not have much so everything was pretty simple. My husband's Mom and ladies sat in their living room a couple afternoons and put together our flowers. A lot of stuff was donated or done by family but we have such good memories!!
